Friday 8th November 2019 saw our second annual Dinner and Dance, which this year was held at The Holiday Inn, Kingston. Over 175 people bought tickets and supported us on this fabulous evening!
We were all treated to a spectacular welcome – courtesy of The Rock Choir – who did a fantastic job of getting us all in the mood for an evening of celebration.
Ian Darke kindly acted as our MC for the evening and we are grateful to him for doing so.
The hospitality provided by the staff at the Holiday Inn was great – it’s no mean feat to cater efficiently for such a large number of people!
We heard from Mike Boddington, Headteacher of Esher Church of England High School, who shared with us all how the support we have provided to his school has made a difference to their students, and we were also very proud to announce the launch of The Grace Dear Youth Theatre, a project we have been working on for some time in partnership with Anstee Bridge, an alternative learning programme for young people aged 14-16, and Bounce Theatre Group. We are looking forward to seeing how the project is making a positive difference to young people in our local community.
During the evening we were delighted and humbled to receive a huge donation of £17,500 from the Cowdy family, in memory of their late cousin, Anthony Cowdy. We are truly very grateful for such generosity.
The evening progressed with an auction, and a ‘heads and tails’ competition, both of which were great fun! Congratulations to the winners and thank you all for your generous support!
The dancing saw us through to midnight and we are so pleased that everyone had such a great time.
THANK YOU to everyone who came and supported us!
Roll on 2020!!!
