To organise a cricket match in a middle of a pandemic was an important ask, we wanted to make sure we were following the rules and guidelines set out by the government, but we also wanted to make sure the match was most importantly safe and fun for all that participated.

During the pandemic we struggled to raise any funds for the charity but we were still supporting schools with online counsellors. We were overwhelmed with the local support from businesses, as they too were struggling.

We were so happy to be able to put on a sporting match (we completely forgot about the score!) The match was between Claygate CC and The Grace Dear Trust. Even with no spectators, 22 players and two Umpire’s, we still managed to raise an amazing £2,000 for the charity. The support from the local community has come together through what has been an incredibly tough year for everyone!

Bring on the next cricket match at which we hope to have spectators for this cracking game.
